Mahindra & Mahindra Limited became the first Indian automotive brand to enter the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) in collaboration with its IT arm Tech Mahindra. Reaffirming its commitment to digital initiatives, Mahindra launched four Thar based superhero-themed NFTs for auction on Tech Mahindra’s NFT marketplace called ‘Mahindra Gallery’.
The NFTs were available for auction from the 29th of March 2022 till the 31st of March 2022. According to the manufacturer, all proceeds from the auction will go towards Project Nanhi Kali, which supports the education of underprivileged girls in India. In addition to the NFTs, winners of the auction will also receive an invitation either to Mahindra’s Adventure Off-Road Driver Training Academy in Igatpuri, Maharashtra or to the new state-of-the-art SUV Proving Track in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to experience the thrill of 4X4 motoring.
A successful product in blockchain technology, NFTs have attracted the attention of automotive companies across the globe. In December 2021, MG Motors became the first manufacturer in India to enter this space. Prior to this, we have seen exclusive NFTs from Ford, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and more.
The new generation Thar has been a successful product for Mahindra since its launch in October 2020. It comes equipped with mStallion petrol and mHawk diesel engines that are mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxe. Both engines are available in 4X4 variants. Unlike the previous generation, the New Mahindra Thar receives a long feature list that includes ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, ESP with roll-over mitigation and dual-airbags, among others. The vehicle has also received a four-star Safety Rating at the Global NCAP test and is considered the safest off-roader currently. The four-wheeler is available only in a three-door configuration in two trim levels (AX Optional and LX) with a soft-top or hard-top.
The 2025 BYD Seal is available in 3 variants - Dynamic, Premium and Performance - priced at Rs 41 lakh, Rs 45.55 lakh and Rs 53 lakh, respectively.
