We reported earlier that the Maruti e Vitara SUV will arrive in our market by September 2025. While most of the details about the new e Vitara are already available on official website, a new media report reveals the key specifications including charging time and range of the electric SUV. The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be offered with two battery packs - 61.1kWh and 48.9kWh.
The new Suzuki e Vitara will support fast charging and the bigger 61.1kWh battery can attain 0 to 80% charging status in 50 minutes. Most of its direct rivals including Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV also supports DC fast charging and took similar time to achieve 0-80% charging status.
While the global-spec Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is offered with FWD and dual-motor AWD setup, India will only get the front-wheel-drive version. The 61.1kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor offers 171bhp and 192Nm of torque. It is expected to offer a certified range of over 500km in a single charge. The electric SUV will achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in under 9 seconds. The lower-spec e Vitara with 48.9kWh battery pack also has a front-axle-mounted electric motor rated at 141bhp and 192Nm of torque.
The new e Vitara will be sold through NEXA premium dealership network. The electric SUV gets a larger 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a digital driver’s display. Other features include Ambient lighting with multi-colour illumination, sunroof with fixed glass, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, sliding and reclining rear seats, etc.
For safety and security, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has 360-degree surround view camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system, blind spot monitoring, 7 airbags, all disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors and LEVEL 2 ADAS. It will have adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, auto high beam and others.
The new Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV will come in 10 colours including 4 dual-tone choices. The single-tone colour options include Bluish Black, Next Blue, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey and Opulent Red. The dual-tone colour options include Opulent Red with Black roof, Land Breeze Green with Black roof, Splendid Silver with Black Roof and Arctic White with Black roof.
