Maruti Suzuki has announced the roll out of new OTA updates for the Baleno, Ertiga and XL6 infotainment systems. The update brings new connectivity options and features to the unit. Owners of either of the vehicles can download the new update using the brand’s SmartPlay Pro Sync app, official Maruti website or from an authorized service center. We take a closer look at the features added to these respective models.
All three models, Maruti Ertiga, XL6 and Baleno now get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, since the update is for the SmartPlay Pro and Pro+ systems only, the lower trim levels with the 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system will not be able to access these features.
The update also adds a sound upgrade, with the audio setup now getting the latest Arkamys Surround Sense audio tuning. While the feature was already present in the Baleno, it now gets added to both the MPVs, XL6 and Ertiga.
After the update, the Baleno’s HUD unit gets added functionality with turn-by-turn navigation, compatible with the inbuilt navigation system as well as with Google Maps and Apple Maps. As for the hatchbacks lower variants, they will get TBT navigation available on their respective MID’s due to the absence of the HUD. Same is the case with Ertiga and XL6 that will offer TBT navigation being in their respective MID units. Further in the MPVs, the feature is not compatible with Apple Maps.
Referring to the price, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno costs between Rs 6.56 lakh to Rs 9.83 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the Ertiga its price starts from Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom). While the Maruti XL6 comes in around Rs 11.41 lakh for the entry level variant and the top-end trim is available for Rs 14.55 lakh (ex-showroom).
