Maruti Suzuki has commenced the bookings for its upcoming MPV, Invicto in India. Customers can pre-book this 3-row MPV for a token amount of Rs 25,000 through the official website or at the nearest Nexa dealerships. The new model will essentially be a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, which will slot above the XL6 in the automaker’s lineup. The Invicto will also become Maruti’s new flagship model once launched in July 2023.
The upcoming Invicto is a result of the collaboration between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Moreover, the 3-row MPV will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. Instead of Maruti Suzuki manufacturing the new Invicto at one of their facilities, Toyota will produce the MPV at its Bidadi plant and supply it to the automaker.
The new model will also introduce some first-time features on a Maruti Suzuki car. These include electrically adjustable seats, powered ottoman, dual-zone AC and ADAS tech among others.
Since the Invicto will be underpinned by Toyota's TNGA-C platform, it will share the same powertrain options as Innova Hycross. The upcoming Invicto MPV will come powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine which generates a maximum power output of 174 bhp and 197 Nm of peak torque. There will also be a strong-hybrid option on offer that pairs the 2.0-litre petrol engine with the electric motor. Transmission options might include a CVT or e-CVT automatic gearbox.
The 3-row premium MPV is likely to arrive in the Indian market the next month (July 2023). It is also said that the MPV could be priced in the range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
