Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door launch in June Manual variants will offer a mileage of 16.94 kmpl Jimny automatic trims would deliver a fuel economy of 16.39 kmpl
Maruti Suzuki is slated to launch the Jimny in India next month. Arguably the most awaited new car launch of 2023, the brand has already started accepting bookings for the 5-door lifestyle SUV. In the past, the brand had shared loads of details about the upcoming vehicle at the time of the Delhi Auto Expo. Now that the off-roader is all set to be launched, the automaker has announced its fuel economy figures. We take an in-depth look.

According to the manufacturer, the New Jimny 5-door manual variants will offer an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 16.94 kmpl while the automatic trims will deliver 16.39 kmpl. This means that the SUV, with its 40-litre fuel tank, will have a range of 678 km for the manual trims and 656 km for the automatic variants.
Powering the Maruti Jimny is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine producing 105 bhp with 135 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options would include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

As far as the price goes, we expect it to be in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). When introduced, the SUV will rival the likes of the Mahindra Thar 5-door and the Force Gurka.
