Mahindra XEV 9S teaser reveals bold new design. The electric SUV will feature a 3-row layout and premium tech. Price expected to range from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh.
Mahindra is all set to introduce a brand-new electric SUV, the XEV 9S, and it’s already generating a lot of excitement ahead of its big debut on November 27, 2025. This upcoming 7-seater electric SUV is expected to become a game-changer in the EV world, as it combines smart technology with Mahindra’s signature rugged design.
Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store for the XEV 9S.

In the latest teaser, Mahindra gives us a sneak peek at the XEV 9S, and it’s clear this electric SUV has class. The teaser shows off a bold front design with a wide LED light bar across the grille, paired with sleek, vertically stacked LED headlamps. The profile hints at a long wheelbase and strong proportions, confirming that the XEV 9S will be a spacious 7-seater SUV.

The illuminated Mahindra Twin Peaks logo and sharp LED accents look premium. Plus, we get a look at luxury features like a panoramic sunroof and retractable door handles, making it clear that this 3-row electric SUV is designed to be as stylish as it is practical.

For anyone familiar with the XUV700, the XEV 9S will be the electric version of this popular SUV. Mahindra has already teased the XUV700 electric launch, and the XEV 9S is set to be the flagship model in the company’s new electric lineup. It will combine all the rugged charm and practicality of the XUV700 with the benefits of an electric powertrain, making it a great choice for eco-conscious families.
The XEV 9S won’t just be spacious; it will also be loaded with tech. Built on Mahindra’s new INGLO modular platform, the XEV 9S will feature advanced battery tech for fast charging. It’s likely to come with dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD). Inside, expect a high-tech digital cockpit along with the latest ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), making the XEV 9S as smart as it is safe.
Mahindra hasn’t yet confirmed the battery specs for the XEV 9S, but it’s likely to feature the same 59kWh and 79kWh LFP batteries found in the BE 6 and XEV 9e. These batteries offer a solid range and fast charging capabilities. The XEV 9S might also come with a dual-motor AWD setup for better performance and traction, especially on rough terrain or in tough weather.
While Mahindra hasn’t officially revealed the price yet, we expect the XEV 9S to cost more than the XEV 9e due to its larger size and premium features. The XEV 9e is priced between Rs 21.90 lakh and Rs 30.50 lakh, so we can estimate that the XEV 9S will fall in the Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh range. This will make the XEV 9S Mahindra’s most expensive EV yet, placing it in the high-end electric SUV segment.
The XEV 9S will be the first mass-market 3-row electric SUV, so there aren’t many direct competitors, especially in the sub-Rs 50 lakh range. While electric MPVs like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7 are available, they’re not true SUVs, so they aren’t direct rivals.
Stay tuned for the official reveal on November 27, and keep an eye out for more updates on the Mahindra XEV 9S, its price, and its features.
