Maruti Suzuki will unveil its first production-ready all-electric model, the e Vitara, next month. The SUV was first showcased as the eVX concept at the Auto Expo 2023 and will be globally launched in mid-2025. The e Vitara features a rugged design with Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, front parking sensors, and a sleek camera module. It will come in a couple of wheel sizes, with 18 and 19 inches, finished in dark paint scheme. Its charging port is on the left front fender. Its rear end has updated connected tail-lamps with a floating roofline.

Inside is where the e-Vitara really puts premium design on showcase. This piece of work on the dashboard is modern and elegant dual tone black and tan brown. SUV features will include a new two-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument panel, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated front seats. The company has not given away the full list of features yet, but e Vitara is going to be the most feature-rich car for the brand. The SUV is built on Maruti’s new HEARTECT-e platform and will be offered with two battery options: 49kWh and 61kWh. The larger version with the battery will easily travel more than 500 km.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to be priced at a range of Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh for the top variants and will be a serious competitor in the electric SUV segment. The e Vitara is going to compete with popular electric models like Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, among others. Hyundai is also going to launch its Creta EV soon.
The Tata Curvv EV, already launched in India, presents a strong competition to the Maruti e Vitara. The Curvv EV brings together an attractive rugged SUV and a sporty sleek coupe design. The Curvv EV is launched by Tata Motors in two battery variants: 45kWh and 55kWh. The vehicle ranges being offered by these are 502 km and 585 km respectively. The SUV is priced between Rs. 17.49 lakh and Rs. 21.99 lakh depending upon the variant. Curvv EV features include Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a 12.2-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera.
Tata Curvv EV and Maruti e Vitara will compete with each other in the same class, therefore, it gives more option to the buyer. These two cars have advanced technology, sophisticated designs, and great electric range. In the market, there are so many buyers opting for electric vehicles across India and globally as manufacturers enter into the EV space as well.
