Skoda Auto India has showcased the new Octavia RS at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Show. At the Auto Expo, the Czech automaker also unveiled the fourth-generation Superb sedan, the new Kodiaq SUV, and the Enyaq electric SUV. The new Skoda Octavia RS has been displayed solely to gauge customer feedback. As of now, there is no official word on its launch in India.
Even if its India launch is on the radar, the new Octavia RS will arrive as a CBU (completely built-up) unit in limited numbers. The performance sedan’s last two versions – RS 230 and RS 245 – were brought in via the CBU route in 2017 and 2020, respectively. For context, the standard Octavia (fourth generation) was introduced in 2021 and phased out in 2023 following the enforcement of the BS6 II emission norms. The sedan is still available in select global markets and received a mid-life update earlier last year.
Globally, the Skoda Octavia RS is offered with a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox (as standard). This motor is also available with a 48V mild hybrid system and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The sedan’s lineup includes three different powertrain options: a 150bhp 1.5L engine with manual and automatic mild hybrid tech, a 116bhp/150bhp 2.0L diesel engine with manual and DCT gearbox options, and a 265bhp 2.0L engine with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
The most powerful 265bhp 2.0L petrol engine is exclusively available with the top-end vRS trim. The performance sedan is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in approximately 6.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250km/h.
The new Skoda Octavia RS comes equipped with features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charging, sport seats with contrasting red stitching and carbon decor, a revised front grille, LED Matrix beam headlights with new Crystallinium elements, alloy wheels of up to 19 inches, and new LED rear lights with animated indicators.
MG Hector petrol variants now E20 fuel compatible; 2025 model launched with no price hike, meeting new emission norms and supporting sustainable mobility.
