New Tata Tiago and Tiago.ev to launch in India on May 28. Sharper design, updated interiors, and city-friendly features added. Petrol, CNG, and electric options expected with slight price increase.
Tata Motors is all set to launch the new Tiago and Tiago.ev in India next week, with the official date confirmed as May 28, 2026. These models are the company’s entry-level offerings in the petrol and electric segments, designed for city driving while offering modern styling and updated features.
The new Tiago comes with a sharper and more contemporary look compared to the outgoing model. At the front, a slim gloss-black panel connects the headlamps, giving the hatchback a wider stance. The redesigned bumper includes larger blacked-out sections and vertical elements housing the fog lamps, giving the car a sportier appearance. Swept-back headlamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, and smooth body panels add to the premium feel.
At the rear, the Tiago now features a full-width faux-light panel connecting the taillamps, along with triple vertical light signatures. The revised bumper and sculpted tailgate give the hatchback a clean, modern look.
The Tiago.ev retains the same silhouette but includes electric-specific details. The front grille is closed-off for better aerodynamics, while a vertically patterned lower bumper and mint green paint with black roof accents make it stand out. At the rear, subtle EV badging and a simplified bumper highlight its electric identity.

Tata is yet to reveal the interiors officially, but a major update is expected. The new Tiago and Tiago.ev are likely to feature redesigned dashboards, larger infotainment touchscreens, updated instrument clusters, and fresh upholstery. The interiors are expected to feel more modern and premium compared to the outgoing models.
The petrol Tiago will continue with the 1.2-litre Revotron engine producing 86PS and 113Nm of torque. A CNG variant producing 75.5PS and 96.5Nm will also be available. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. The CNG version uses dual cylinders to free up boot space.
The Tiago.ev currently comes with 19.2kWh and 24kWh batteries, giving a range of 223km to 293km. The new Tiago.ev might bring updated battery options and could also introduce Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) like the Punch.ev.
The new Tiago is expected to cost slightly more than the current model. For reference, the existing petrol Tiago ranges from Rs 4,59,990 to Rs 6,82,990, while the current Tiago.ev is priced between Rs 7,99,000 and Rs 11,14,000 (ex-showroom).
