Toyota Cars is one of the largest automakers in the world currently. In India, the brand’s lineup of SUVs and MPVs have proven to be very successful. Elsewhere though, sedans like the Corolla and the Camry have been incredibly popular models as well. Ahead of the 2023 Los Angeles Motor Show, the company has released the first official teaser of the next-gen Camry globally.
The teaser hardly reveals any significant details about how the new Toyota Camry will look. However, it does preview a few design elements. The new front end features redesigned LED headlights and DRLs that look similar to the current Prius hybrid. It will also likely get a new bumper while the grille may be tweaked as well. We will know more when Toyota reveals more details about the new Camry.
Reports suggest that Toyota will offer the new Camry with a fresh set of powertrain options. There will be a base 2.5-litre petrol motor that makes 203 bhp of peak power, a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol making 265 bhp of max power, and a strong-hybrid motor that churns 236 bhp of peak power. Transmission duties will likely be handled by a CVT or e-CVT automatic gearbox.
Toyota is yet to announce an official launch date for the next-gen Camry. It will likely be unveiled at the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show in November, with a global launch by the end of 2023 or in early 2024.
The automaker already sells the current-gen Camry in India, which is priced at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Since it is a low-volume model here, it is unsure if Toyota will bring the next-gen model to India anytime soon.
