Nissan Gravite is based on the Renault Triber To get 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine
The much-awaited new Nissan Gravite sub-4 meter UV will finally go on sale in the Indian market today. It is essentially the re-badged version of the Renault Triber, but will have Nissan identity. The company has already shared the exterior and interiors of the MPV via official TV commercials and social media branding. Official bookings are also expected to commence tomorrow.
We expect the new Nissan Gravite to cost somewhere around Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, ex-showroom. It will directly rival the Renault Triber, and will be marketed as a practical 7-seater low-cost MPV. The MPV could come as an alternative to the likes of the Maruti Wagon R and Maruti Ertiga.

The new Nissan Gravite features the traditional cab-forward design, featuring a boxy, and upright silhouette. It gets the Nissan’s traditional logo, C-shaped LED lighting system, a prominent Nissan logo, and a more sculpted bumper design. Other design details include usable roof rail, body cladding and alloy wheels. The rear gets a wraparound LED tail-lamps, a faux-skid plate, and C-shaped bumper.
The cabin seating layout will be similar to the Nissan Triber, which comes with removable third-row seats. It will come with dual-tone beige and black interior scheme, freestanding touchscreen infotainment unit, adjustable headrests, a multi-functional steering wheel and a digital driver’s display. The higher-spec variants are likely to get a 360-degree surround view camera, wireless phone charging and connected car tech.
For safety and security, the new Gravite gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill-hold assist, and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The new Gravite is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 71bhp of power and 96Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. It is expected that the higher-spec models could get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that produces 99bhp and 160Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
