Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan, will launch three new utility vehicles in the country by March 2027. The company has confirmed that it will launch an all-new B-MPV in the first quarter of 2026. Adding to it, a new Nissan mid-sized SUV will launch in the country by mid-2026. A brand new 3-row SUV has been confirmed to be launched in early 2027.
International media reports that the new Nissan C-SUV could be called the Nissan Kait. It will be a global model and will also launch in Brazil. However, the India-spec model could carry a different nameplate. Nissan has already confirmed that it will export the new three models to both right-hand and left-hand-drive markets. It will be manufactured at Renault’s Chennai based production plant.

Nissan has already released the teaser images for the new mid-sized SUV. In fact, the company has started testing the new SUV on the Indian roads. The new SUV will be based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform that also underpins the soon-to-be-launched Renault Duster.
The new Nissan SUV was caught wearing heavy cloths, but its silhouette appears similar to that of the official teaser. The Nissan C-SUV design is inspired by the brand’s globally popular Patrol full-size SUV, featuring rugged squarish design and upright stance.
The new mid-sized SUV features an aggressive front fascia, featuring a prominent grille with a central Nissan logo, and C-shaped elements in the bumper. The spy images suggest that the SUV gets LED headlamps with connected daytime running lamps. The SUV will come with flared wheel arches, multi-spoke alloys, a sculpted bonnet, flatter roof with integrated spoiler, usable roof rails, and prominent black plastic cladding all-around the body.
At the back, the new Nissan C-SUV comes with a sculpted tailgate, and a rectangular shaped tail-lights. The tail-lights could be connected via a LED light bar. Other design highlights include a shark fin antenna and an aggressive lower bumper.
The cabin layout of the new Nissan C-SUV will be similar to global Nissan SUVs. It is expected to share the features with the new Duster. The new C-SUV is likely to be fitted with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and ventilated front seats.
The new Nissan C-SUV will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, etc. For safety and security, the SUV will come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control and many more.
The new Nissan SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with manual and dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. The entry-level variants could get a 1.5L NA petrol or a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. A hybrid version is also likely to join the line-up at a later stage.
