Renault, Kia, Hyundai to Launch Hybrid SUVs in India by 2027

Renault Duster, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta go hybrid by 2027 Duster: 156 hp, 80% EV city driving Kia & Hyundai hybrids: locally made petrol and electric motors

India is set to get more hybrid SUVs. By 2027, Renault Duster, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta will get hybrid powertrains, combining petrol engines with electric motors for better fuel efficiency.

Renault Duster Hybrid

The new Duster will get an 80 kW petrol engine paired with a 36 kW electric motor. Renault claims it will drive in EV mode up to 80% of the time in the city, cutting fuel consumption by up to 40%. A full tank could take it up to 1,000 km without refuelling.

Kia Seltos Hybrid

Kia confirmed that the Seltos Hybrid will arrive in early 2027. It will use a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, likely in front-wheel-drive format. The Carens and Sonet will follow later.

Hyundai Creta Hybrid

The next-gen Hyundai Creta will likely share the same hybrid system as the Seltos. This will be Hyundai’s first hybrid SUV in India, arriving in 2027.
