Tata Motors is all set to launch the Tata Harrier Petrol in November 2025, marking a significant shift as this will be the first time the Harrier is available with a petrol engine. Until now, the Harrier has only been offered with a diesel option. The introduction of a petrol variant is expected to attract a wider range of customers and make the Harrier more affordable for many.
Along with the Tata Harrier Petrol, the brand is also set to launch the Safari Petrol and Sierra ICE as part of its November 2025 car launches.

The new Tata Harrier Petrol will feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 168-170 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This engine will be available with two transmission options - a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic. The introduction of this engine provides a new and more affordable entry point for buyers, making the Tata Harrier Petrol a more versatile option compared to its diesel-only predecessor.
This new powertrain is set to compete directly with rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, both of which offer petrol engine variants. The Harrier Petrol will be more attractive to customers who prefer the performance and efficiency of a petrol engine while retaining the spacious and premium features the Harrier is known for.
Tata Harrier Petrol will come packed with a range of advanced special features to make it more appealing. Some of the expected Tata Harrier Petrol special features include:
- A large infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- An advanced 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- 360-degree camera
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- A panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated front seats and electric power seats with memory
- A suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
These special features make the Tata Harrier Petrol a premium offering in the SUV segment.
One of the key advantages of the Tata Harrier Petrol will be its pricing. The Tata Harrier Petrol price is expected to be lower than the diesel variant. Diesel engines tend to be more expensive than petrol engines, so the introduction of a petrol-powered Harrier could make it a more affordable option for those looking for a premium SUV without the high cost of a diesel engine.
While the exact Tata Harrier Petrol price is yet to be confirmed, the competitive pricing strategy is expected to help Tata Motors capture a larger share of the SUV market, especially in comparison to rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which offer petrol and diesel variants at similar price points.
Tata Harrier Petrol mileage is expected to be more efficient than the diesel version, making it a better option for buyers who prioritize fuel efficiency. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine is designed to balance performance with good fuel economy, making it ideal for both city driving and longer trips.
While official mileage figures are yet to be released, the Tata Harrier Petrol is expected to offer competitive mileage that will appeal to those looking for an SUV that provides both power and efficiency.
Tata Harrier Petrol is an exciting new option for those looking for a premium SUV with a petrol engine. With its new turbocharged engine, affordable pricing, and premium features, the Tata Harrier Petrol is set to be a strong competitor in the SUV market. If you’ve been waiting for a petrol-powered Harrier, the upcoming launch in November 2025 is definitely worth considering.
