The Nexon CNG is the first CNG vehicle in our market to be paired with a turbocharged petrol engine. It features a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which is the same offered in the regular model. In CNG mode, the powertrain produces 99bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Moreover, the SUV gets Tata's dual-cylinder technology that allows Tata Motors to offer CNG options without compromising on the boot space. The SUV still offers an impressive boot space of 321-litres. This model can directly start on CNG and its two tanks offer a combined capacity of 60-litres.
The styling of the Tata Nexon CNG is similar to the regular model, except for the iCNG badge. The cabin received many features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 10.25-inch digital driver's display. Other features include ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, an 8-speaker sound system, and air purifier.
The Tata Nexon also becomes the first CNG vehicle in our market to feature a panoramic sunroof. For safety and security, the SUV gets 6 airbags, rain sensing wipers, hill hold control, a 360-degree surround view camera and electronic stability control.
