Tata Motors has officially started delivering the new Sierra lifestyle SUV. Interested buyers can book the new SUV online or at nearest Tata Motors dealership by paying a token amount of up to Rs 25,000. The new Tata Sierra has been receiving an overwhelming response from buyers, as it recorded over 70K bookings within 24 hours.

The new Sierra lifestyle SUV is available in 7 trims - Smart Plus, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Adventure Plus, Accomplished and Accomplished Plus. It comes at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh, which extends up to Rs 21.29 lakh, ex-showroom. It directly rivals the segment-leaders including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. Other models in the segment includes Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate and the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
The Sierra is one of four models in the midsize SUV category to offer a diesel engine option. Its direct rivals, including the Creta and Seltos are offered with a diesel engine. As per dealers, more than 50% of Sierra buyers opted for diesel engine options. The Sierra diesel offers both manual and automatic gearbox options to buyers, and it offers good fuel economy compared to the petrol engines.

The new Tata Sierra is available with 3 powertrain choices - a 158bhp, 1.5-litre, turbo petrol, a 105bhp, 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol and a 116bhp, 1.5-litre, turbo diesel. While the NA unit is offered with 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the turbo petrol unit is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel version is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The new Tata Sierra measures 4340mm in length, 1841mm in width and 1715mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2730mm. It has the longest wheelbase in its category, the Seltos has a second best at 2690mm. The SUV offers a boot space of 622-litres to the roof (450-litres to the parcel shelf), which can be further extended up to 1257-litres by folding the second-row seats.
Our sources reveal that the new Tata Sierra EV will launch in Q2, 2026, between April and June. Before this EV, Tata Motors will launch the Punch EV facelift in February 2026. It will be based on the Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Curvv EV. It will rival the Mahindra BE 6 and the Hyundai Creta Electric. The electric Sierra is expected to be offered with two battery choices, including a 55kWh from Curvv EV and 65kWh from Harrier EV. It is expected to offer a realistic range of up to 450km on a single charge.
