Tata Sierra EV launch confirmed for Q1 FY27 in India. Likely to share 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs with Harrier EV. Will rival Creta Electric, BE 6 and MG ZS EV.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the all-electric version of the Sierra will launch in Q1 of FY2026-27. The update was shared during the company’s recent earnings call.
The Sierra EV will be positioned between the Tata Curvv EV and the Tata Harrier EV in the brand’s growing EV portfolio. This makes it a key product in Tata’s fully electric SUV lineup.
The new-generation Tata Sierra created huge buzz ahead of its November 2025 launch. The SUV received 70,000 bookings within just 24 hours.
Bookings have now crossed 1 lakh units. Due to high demand, the waiting period has stretched to around 6-7 months in several cities.
Tata had earlier confirmed at the Auto Expo 2025 that the Sierra would be offered in both ICE and EV versions.

While the Sierra EV will look similar to the petrol and diesel version, it is expected to get EV-specific styling updates.
These may include a closed-off front grille, revised bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs. Inside, the SUV could feature updated software, new graphics for the infotainment system, and EV-focused displays.
The Sierra EV will be the second Tata.ev launch this year after the facelifted Tata Punch EV.
The Sierra EV is likely to share its powertrain options with the Harrier EV. Currently, the Harrier EV is offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs.
The 65kWh variant delivers a claimed range of 538 km per charge. It produces 235 bhp and 315 Nm of peak torque.
The larger 75kWh battery pack generates 390 bhp and 504 Nm of torque.
Tata may also offer a dual-motor setup or an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option with the Sierra EV. This could make it one of the more powerful electric SUVs in its segment.
Once launched, the Tata Sierra EV will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and upcoming models like the Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.
With strong brand value and massive early response to the ICE version, the Sierra EV could become one of Tata’s most important electric launches in FY27.
