Offered in 3 variants Both petrol and CNG powertrains part of the package Rivals the Kia Carens
Toyota Kirloskar Motors has expanded its MPV portfolio with the inclusion of recently showcased Rumion in India. Based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the vehicle is expected to become the most affordable Toyota model to be sold across the country. On the announcement of its price, the four-wheeler will be available in 3 variants. We take a closer look.

The Rumion will be available to the new car buyer in 3 variants. The trims would include S, G, and V. Here is a break of features offered under each variant.
The entry-level variant of Rumion will be the S. It would come equipped with features like a dual-tone interior, 4-speaker audio system, steering-mounted controls, roof-mounted AC vents, armrest for middle row, semi-digital instrument cluster with MID, remote keyless entry, cooled cup holders, electrically adjustable ORVMS, paddle shifters (AT models), gear shift indicator (MT models), tilt-adjustable steering wheel, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill-Hold Assist, ESC, and more.
The mid-spec Rumion G would provide additional equipment alongside the S trim such as climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota Connected Car Tech, height-adjustable driver’s seat, faux wood trim on the front doors and dashboard. It would also get a front-row central sliding armrest with storage, push-button start/stop, front fog lamps, and a rear washer/wiper with a defogger.
The top-of-the-line, Rumion V would include features of both the S and G trims. It would further offer equipment like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, auto headlights, front curtain airbags, rear parking camera, and key-operated retractable wing mirrors.
Powering the All-New Toyota Rumion is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated motor that is available in both petrol and CNG trims. The former makes 103 bhp with 138 Nm of peak torque while the later delivers a maximum power output of 88 bhp and 122 Nm torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. CNG will be available only on the S and V trims.
Toyota is yet to announce the prices for the Rumion in the coming few weeks. We expect it to be priced around Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the Maruti Ertiga, which is currently priced between Rs 8.64 lakh to Rs 13.08 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are set to commence around the end of this month or early next month.
Upon launch, the Toyota Rumion will rival the likes of the Kia Carens and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
