At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in India, VinFast had unveiled its first all-electric SUV, named VinFast VF8. This is the first step for the Vietnamese carmaker into the Indian electric vehicle market. Put between the flagship VF9 and the more understated VF7, the VF8 represents the sweetest blend of performance, design, and technology. The VF8 is a 5-seater electric SUV with an AWD system and a claimed range of up to 412 kilometers. It's a great contender for Indian consumers looking for an eco-friendly mobility solution. It is also fitted with modern features focused on comfort, safety, and convenience, making it a well-rounded offering in the growing EV segment.
The VF8 comes with the distinct VinFast V-shaped design language. There is a V-shaped grille at the front end with slim LED DRLs that are divided by the middle placed VinFast logo. The rear end is sloping slightly, and this SUV sits on 20-inch alloy wheels. There's a set of connecting LED tail lights at the back as well which goes across the tailgate thereby underlining the design of this brand.
The cabin for the VF8 is going to have a dual tone, brown and black color. Minimalism takes the forefront in the dashboard and inside one will find the 15.6-inch floating touchscreen display to handle infotainment. Seating is all done in leatherette in brown that gives it a luxury feel. Comfort and Convenience features include a heads-up display, wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, powered front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting.
The safety features are among the ones which the VF8 boasts about. These include 11 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and an advanced suite of ADAS. This all creates an environment where safety is guaranteed while comfortable driving to and from work. The powertrain and performance can also be listed.
It will be available with 87.7 kWh of power options in either 353 hp (PS) and 500 Nm of torque, or 408 PS, and 620 Nm of torque. It has an all-wheel drive drivetrain, and the battery in the VF8 will do 412 km as claimed for the base model and 378 for the highoutput model.
One feature of this electric SUV is DC fast charging, which refuels the battery from 10 to 70 percent in a mere 31 minutes, which is useful for long-distance rides.
