Volkswagen has launched the new Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport in the Indian market. Adding to it, the German automaker has introduced an enhanced feature package for the Taigun GT Line along with the addition of new Highline Plus variant.
The VW Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport are available at a starting price of Rs 14.07 lakh and Rs 17.84 lakh, respectively. The new GT Line is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The Volkswagen Virtus GT Line comes equipped with electric sunroof, an 8-inch digital cockpit, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, KESSY - Push button start stop, Auto dimming IRVM, Rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights and much more. The sedan comes with 6 airbags as standard fitment.
On the exterior, the Virtus GT Line gets blackened LED headlamps with LED DRL, front grille, ORVMs, and window bar. The sedan rides on 16-inch 'Razor' black alloy wheels. Other features include GT Line badge on doors, boot lid, dark chrome door handle garnish, black strip in front and rear, 'VIRTUS' lettering in black on boot lid, and signature LED tail-lamps.
It comes with electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, traction control system (TCS), Multi-collision brakes, TPMS, hill hold control and front and rear fog lamps. Other features include smart touch climatronic AC, black coloured headliner, sun-visors, grab handles and door trim, red ambient lights, glossy black dashboard decor, black leatherette + fabric seat upholstery with Gray stitching.
This variant comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with amplifier and subwoofer, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, powered driver and co-driver seats, ventilated front seats, automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers and others. The Virtus GT Plus Sport is powered by a 1.5L TSI EVO petrol engine with 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG unit.
In terms of design, the sporty sedan gets red-finished GT logo at the front, blackened LED headlamps, GT badge in Red colour, blacked-out front grille, ORVMs, window bar and rear design strip. It also gets 16-inch 'Razor' black alloy wheels along with dark chrome door handle garnish and glossy black spoiler on boot lid. The sedan gets aero-kit that includes front bumper, rear bumper, side running board and rear diffuser.
The sedan has blacked-out interior with contrasting red treatment. It features Red coloured stitching on the steering wheel, and seat covers. The sedan gets glossy black dashboard decor, door handle decor, and black-coloured grab handles, sun-visor, roof lamp housing and leatherette upholstery.
The SUV gets additional features such as an 8-inch digital instrument console, an electric sunroof, KESSY - push button start stop system, aluminum pedals, rain sensing wipers and auto dimming IRVM.
Volkswagen has added a new Highline Plus variant for both Taigun and Virtus. The Virtus Highline Plus MT is priced at Rs 13.87 lakh, while the Taigun Highline Plus MT is tagged at Rs 14.26 lakh. Both models are powered by a 114bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
In terms of features, the new Highline Plus variant gets an 8-inch digital instrument console, auto dimming IRVM, KESSY - push button start stop, electric sunroof, automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, and auto coming/leaving home lights.
Adding to it, VW Taigun Topline and Virtus Topline trims get Digital sound package with amplifier and subwoofer as standard.
