2023 BMW X7 has finally been revealed globally. The flagship SUV now offers significant design changes, thus giving an insight into BMW’s new design language.
BMW’s full-blown 7 seater SUV, the X7 was due for its share of updates for a long time now since its arrival in 2019. The upcoming X7 Facelift will mark the arrival of BMW’s new design language. The SUV will get a host of changes to the interiors along with added modern technology features. It is based on CLAR architecture which is similar to the outgoing model.
2023 BMW X7 Facelift Exterior Updates:
The major highlight of the facelifted X7 is the completely redesigned front fascia, which speaks of the brand's new design philosophy. The vertically arranged split type headlights steal the show, by portraying a distinctive outlook. In terms of functionality, the thin LEDs will work as DRLs and indicators, while the unit below houses the main headlamp unit with adaptive Matrix technology. The significantly worked out front bumper features a large air intake with triangular design elements to the side. Placed right above it is the humongous signature kidney grille featuring Iconic Glow Cascade Lighting. The vertical air curtains are placed just below the main headlight unit for better aerodynamic efficiency. The design looks more or less the same from the sides, with a fresh set of 21-inch alloy wheels offered as standard, while the 22-inch wheels come optional. The rear profile of the vehicle is slightly tweaked with a wider chore strip adjoining the taillights. While the dual muffler design is similar to the outgoing model.

2023 BMW X7 Facelift Interior Changes:
The significant upgrade in the interiors of the upcoming BMW X7 is the new single-unit curved display that combines a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. This system runs on BMW’s iDrive 8 software with advanced features like voice recognition, a plethora of customisable options and over the air updates. The dashboard of the full-blown SUV gets a design change in form of slimmer air vents and an ambient lighting strip with “X7” lettering. BMW has skipped the traditional gear shifter, with the new X7 getting a small toggle, sitting alongside the iDrive controller. Features like 4 zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, Harmon Kardon audio system and ventilated seats are offered as a part of the standard kit.

2023 BMW X7 Facelift Drivetrain:
The company has gone ahead and introduced mild-hybrid technology across the range, with a 48V battery, that provides an extra boost to the engine using a 12 bhp electric motor. Power is channelled to all four wheels through the eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. The new variant introduced to the line-up is top of the line M60i, with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 motor producing 530 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. The other two powertrains include the same gasoline xDrive 40i and an oil burner xDrive40d, but with higher power outputs.
