2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Arriving in Early April With Major Changes

2026 VW Taigun facelift launch in first half of April To get comprehensive updates New 8-speed automatic gearbox

It is no secret that Volkswagen is gearing up for the launch of the Taigun facelift that has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. If reports are to be believed, the VW Taigun facelift could be launched in the first half of April 2026. It will come with comprehensive design and interior changes along with a longer list of features and a new automatic gearbox option.

Design and Interior Changes

The spy shots reveal that the Taigun facelift will come with a revised front fascia, featuring new curvy headlamp housing, wider LED daytime running lamps and an illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front. It gets a newly designed and more prominent bumper. The side profile remains largely unchanged, except for the new set of alloy wheels. At the back, the 2026 VW Taigun is likely to get refreshed tail-lights with integrated sequential turn indicators, and an illuminated Volkswagen badge.

Inside the cabin, the Taigun facelift could share features with the Kushaq facelift. It is expected to get a panoramic sunroof, rear seat massager, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display with turn-by-turn navigation, and a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Google AI assistant. The SUV will also get front ventilated seats, and automatic AC and a single-pane sunroof could come as standard. For safety and security, the SUV will get 6 airbags, ESC, hill-hold control, multi-collision braking and rear view camera. It will miss out on LEVEL 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera.

Same Engine Choices, New 8-speed AT

The Taigun facelift will retain its engine options, including a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol. Instead of a 6-speed torque converter automatic, the 1.0L TSI unit will be paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The 1.0L engine produces 115PS and 178Nm, while the 1.5L TSI unit churns out 150PS and 250Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox will be offered with a 1.0L unit. There is a 7-speed DSG unit will be offered with a 1.5L turbo unit.
