Tata Harrier EV launching on June 3 Tata confirms Sierra EV and ICE will launch this fiscal Punch facelift testing begins
Tata Motors is preparing to launch 3 new SUVs in the Indian market before the end of this financial year. The long-awaited Tata Harrier EV will go on sale in the country on June 3, 2025. Tata will also give a mid-life update to Punch micro SUV. Adding to it, the Sierra lifestyle SUV will return in a new avatar before the end of this year.
Launch - June 3, 2025
Competition - Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3
Estimated Price - Rs 24 lakh - Rs 30 lakh
Tata Motors had revealed the production-ready Harrier EV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It is based on Tata’s Acti.ev Gen 2 architecture, which also underpins the Curvv and Punch EVs. It looks largely similar to its ICE derivatives; however, the Harrier EV gets some EV-specific design elements.
It is likely to come in two battery choices - 60kWh and 75kWh - with later having dual-motor AWD setup. The SUV is expected to offer a range of over 500km in a single charge. Some of the features include multi-link rear suspension, Summon mode (auto park feature), V2L, LEVEL 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 7 airbags, 360-degree surround view camera and others.
Launch - July-August 2025
Competition - Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, Renault Tiger
Estimated Price - Rs 6.20 lakh - Rs 10.50 lakh
Tata Motors is preparing to launch an upgraded version of its popular compact SUV, the Tata Punch. In fact, the facelift SUV has been spotted testing with heavy camouflage on the Indian roads. It will receive some exterior changes; however, the majority changes will be made to its interior. The Punch facelift interiors will have strong resemblance with latest Tata cars including Nexon and Altroz.
It will get a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a fully digital instrument console and a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. The SUV could get a newer climate control interface and new materials for the dashboard. It will be offered with the same 1.2L petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options.
Launch - Sept-Oct 2025
Competition - Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio-N, Kia Seltos
Estimated Price - Rs 12 lakh - Rs 25 lakh
Tata Motors has confirmed that the new Sierra EV will first go on sale, followed by the ICE-powered model. The electric SUV will be based on the Acti.ev architecture that also underpins the Curvv EV and the Punch EV. The SUV could come with multiple battery choices along with AWD and FWD layout. It is likely to offer a range of up to 500km in a single charge.
Unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the Sierra ICE will come with a triple screen layout inside the cabin. There will be a dedicated display for co-occupant entertainment. The Sierra ICE will come with two engine options - a 167bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 168bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel.
