Tata Punch facelift launching with fresh updates Harrier & Safari to debut new 1.5L petrol engine Tata Sierra returning in ICE and electric versions
Tata Motors is gearing up for an exciting end to 2025 with four major car launches. Starting in November, the company will roll out updated versions of its existing models along with an all-new offering.
From the Tata Punch facelift to the Tata Sierra EV, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming launches.
Tata Punch, one of the best-selling cars in brand’s lineup, is set to get a facelift in November 2025. The micro-SUV will feature subtle exterior updates, including new bumpers, grilles, and a fresh set of 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the Tata Punch facelift will see more significant changes, such as a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a digital instrument cluster, and updated trim and seat covers.
While the Punch facelift will bring some exciting visual and interior changes, the car is expected to carry over its current engine options. These include a 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG engine paired with a 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission. Tata Punch.ev remains unchanged, as it already received major upgrades.
In a move that’s been long awaited, Tata Motors is adding a petrol engine option to the Harrier. After six years of dominating the diesel SUV space, the Harrier will now cater to a new segment of customers who prefer petrol engines. This new variant will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 168 hp and 280 Nm of torque. It will be available with both manual and automatic transmission choices.
This new petrol option will attract buyers who want the power and features of the Harrier but don’t necessarily need the diesel engine. With its strong performance and more affordable pricing, the Tata Harrier petrol is set to give rivals a run for their money.
Alongside the Harrier, the Tata Safari will also make the shift to petrol in November 2025. The Safari petrol will get the same 1.5-litre TGDI engine as the Harrier, offering 168 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions.
While the Safari petrol may not provide the same sporty performance as other SUVs in its class, it will offer a comfortable, relaxed drive, making it a great option for families. With its seven-seat capacity and spacious cabin, the Tata Safari remains a strong contender in the full-size SUV market, even with the petrol engine.
One of the most eagerly awaited Tata models, the Tata Sierra, is set to make a grand comeback in 2025. This time, it will come in two versions - a traditional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variant and a futuristic Sierra.ev, which will be Tata’s first electric SUV in the Sierra family.
The new Tata Sierra will feature a bold, squarish silhouette that gives it a commanding presence on the road. Both variants will maximize passenger and luggage space. The Sierra ICE will be powered by an all-new 1.5-litre TGDI engine, while the Sierra EV will boast a dual-motor AWD system, setting it apart from its competitors in the electric SUV segment.
Tata is also expected to include innovative features such as a passenger touchscreen and a lounge-inspired four-seat layout, offering extra legroom for rear-seat passengers. The launch of the Tata Sierra ICE is expected in December, followed by the Tata Sierra EV shortly after.
