Honda has recently revealed the design sketches of the next-gen Amaze sedan. The sub-4m sedan is expected to be launched in India on December 4, 2024. After the launch of the new Amaze, the brand will introduce two more new cars in the market. One of these will be an electric vehicle, while another will be a 7-Seater SUV. Let's get into more details!
The Japanese automaker is working on the electric iteration of the Elevate SUV. The ICE version of the Elevate was launched in 2023 while its electric avatar will arrive in 2026. Codenamed DG9D, the upcoming Honda Elevate EV will be manufactured at Honda's Tapukara production facility in Rajasthan. Design-wise, it could retain the same silhouette as the ICE model, however, it is yet to be confirmed as there is no official image out. As for the battery details, it could get a battery pack of 40-50 kWh with the front-axle-mounted motor. Upon launch, it will rival Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra Be 6e, and Tata Curvv EV.
Like Maruti, Toyota, and Nissan, Honda is also developing a seven-seater SUV for Indian customers. The upcoming Honda SUV will be based on the all-new PF2 platform which can support multiple engine options including petrol and electric. In fact, this platform will also be used for future Honda cars. The 7-seater SUV will come into production in October 2027. Beneath the hood, the SUV will house the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, offered in Elevate SUV. A strong hybrid unit might also be available.
