Honda India is slated to launch its all-new SUV, the Elevate on September 4. Latest reports have already revealed that static display vehicles have started as well. The new compact SUV made its global debut in India at the start of June but got homologated last month.

The Elevate will be offered in four variants, SV, V, VX, and ZX, and all of them are going to be packed with features. The base SV trim itself will get projector LED headlights, auto climate control, 16-inch steel wheels, and push-button start/stop. Meanwhile, the top ZX variant gets features like Honda Sensing ADAS-tech, electric sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment system, eight-speaker audio setup, connected car tech, and more. The Elevate ZX also gets a Phoenix Orange colour that’s unique to the variant.
Honda will offer the Elevate with a single powertrain option in India. It is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol motor that makes 121 bhp with 145 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 7-step CVT automatic gearbox. Honda has stated that Elevate has an ARAI-claimed fuel-efficiency figure of 15.31 kmpl for the manual and 16.92 kmpl for the CVT.
While there will be no diesel or strong-hybrid powertrains on offer, Honda did confirm that the Elevate will get an all-electric sibling in the future.
Honda is yet to reveal the pricing of the Elevate, but it is expected to start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Test drives of the vehicle are also expected to start very soon.
Upon launch, the Honda Elevate will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Škoda Kushaq, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
