Hyundai Motor India Limited, is planning to launch a mid-life facelift of the Grand i10 NIOS in the country soon. Recently, the upcoming car was spotted testing on India roads with camouflage around the company’s Chennai plant. the spy shots of the India-spec test mule as well as the left-hand drive model were spotted near the automaker’s Chennai plant. Here is everything we know from the spy shots.
The latest spy shots show the partially covered exterior of the updated Grand i10 NIOS. The boomerang-shaped LED DRLs are now placed on the edge of the bumper instead of the grille, which has a new hexagonal design. While the overall profile looks very similar to the outgoing model, the new car will get a different design alloy wheels and an updated taillight.
With the new model, Hyundai may also introduce new exterior colours options. Spy shots of the updated model testing in Germany show a sky-blue shade, which is expected to be available in India when the car goes on sale later next year. Currently, the hatchback is offered in 5 shades -Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Aqua Teal, Fiery Red and Polar White – and two dual-tone paint schemes.
Currently there are two test mules doing rounds on the Indian roads, which includes both the international spec and the Indian right-hand-drive model.
The facelifted Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS will keep the same powertrain options as the current model. Hyundai offers a 1.2-lite petrol that makes 83 bhp and 114 Nm of peak power and torque which comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
The same engine is also offered in a CNG-variant where it develops a lower 69 bhp and 95.2 of torque. This model is available with only a 5-speed manual.
There is also a 1-litre turbo-petrol option that churns out 100 bhp and 172 Nm of max power and torque.
