Hyundai was a part of the "Attack Tsukuba 2025" motorsport event held in Japan on the 15th of February. The brand took part in their IONIQ 5 N TA Spec that broke the speed record. It set a benchmark and became the EV with the fastest lap time. The score is secured by professional Japanese driver Nobuteru Taniguchi driving behind the wheel. This achievement of the automaker is a showcase of its high-performance electric mobility growing its presence in the motorsport.

This EV becomes with fastest with a lap time of 57.446 seconds to lap the Tusukuba Circuit. The IONIQ 5 N TA was almost two seconds faster than its neared EV rivals.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N TA Spec comes with the car's standard high-performance power electronics (PE) system. However, in comparison to the IONIQ 5 N, this TA Spec has its software tuned for a maximum output of 685 bhp, and the power of the rear motor is increased by 34 bhp.
Other upgrades that this spec features are N Active Sound+ with modified speakers (over 120 dB), new shock absorbers, a Sabelt six-point Hans safety harness, a PPIHC-specification roll cage, motorsport-grade brakes, 18-inch Yokohama ADVAN 005 slick tires, a high-downforce aerodynamic package, a Recaro Pro Racer SPA Hans seat, and an EV fire suppression system.
Through this achievement, Hyundai signifies its advanced EV tech and strengthens Hyundai Mobility Japan's position in the country's small but growing EV market. The brand is expanding its portfolio, as the INSTER which is a sub-compact electric SUV launched in the Japanese market.
It can be expected from the brand that they will be making great changes in the electric mobility market for not only daily use but for motorsports as well.
