Kia India has started accepting pre-bookings for the Carens Clavis EV. Interested customers can book the new electric MPV online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The new electric MPV is available in four variants - HTK+, HTX, HTX Long Range and HTX+ Long Range - priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs. 24.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. It comes as an affordable alternative of the BYD eMax 7, which is priced in the range of Rs 26.90 lakh to Rs 29.90 lakh, ex-showroom.

The standard Kia Carens Clavis EV with 42kWh battery pack comes with a 135hp, front-axle-mounted electric motor. On the other hand, the Long Rage version with 51.4kWh battery pack is coupled to a 171hp, electric motor. The Long Range version is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in 8.4 seconds.
The Clavis EV is offered with 7.4kW and 11kW AC charger options. The 42kWh battery can achieve 10-100% charging status, using an 11kW AC charger, in 4 hours. The bigger battery pack takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes to achieve 10-100% charging status. Using a DC fast charger, both batteries can achieve 10-100% charging status in just 39 minutes.
