Kia India has recently launched the new Carens Clavis EV in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The new 7-seater electric MPV is reportedly to receive a new taxi variant, which will target the fleet operators. Called the HTM (M Drive), the new variant will share its features with the entry-level variant.
The Kia Clavis EV HTM variant comes with features mandatory for taxi cars. It comes with GPS tracker with 6 panic button, a speed governor set at 80km/h and others. Adding to it, the taxi variant of the electric MPV will come with a host of other comfort and convenience features.
The new fleet version of the Kia Carens Clavis EV will be based on the HTK+ variant. In terms of features, the electric MPV gets LED lighting system, Double D-Cut steering wheel, 16-inch Black High Gloss Aero Alloy Wheels, Black and Beige dual-tone interiors, and 2nd seat one-touch easy electric tumble.
The Taxi variant of the Clavis EV also gets dual 12.25-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It gets keyless entry, remote wiper and washer, 2nd Row 60:40 split seats with reclining, sliding and tumble function, 50:50 split seats in third row, paddle shifters for i-pedal and regen braking, cruise control, electric parking brake with auto hold, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
The leaked document reveals that the commercial version of the Kia Carens Clavis EV will be offered with a 42kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The set-up offers 133bhp and 255Nm of torque. The Carens Clavis EV is claimed to offer an ARAI certified range of 404km in a single charge.
Leaked document reveals that the new Kia Carens Clavis EV HTM variant is priced at Rs 18.19 lakh (ex-showroom). This is slightly higher than the entry-level HTK+ 42kWh variant that costs Rs 17.99 lakh.
