Offered with two battery pack sizes Lounge like swiveling middle-row seats Longest SUV in the brand’s portfolio
With the EV9 grabbing eyeballs everywhere it goes, KIA Motors has revealed the complete technical specifications of the new electric SUV. The automaker also unveiled the sportier EV9 GT-Line variant that gets slightly different styling compared to the standard model. Here are more details
The upcoming KIA EV9 will be offered with 2 battery pack options, a 76.1 kWh unit and a larger 99.8 kWh unit. While information about the smaller battery pack is limited, the automaker has revealed that the larger battery pack will return a claimed range of 531 km on a full charge. In addition, this unit will also support 250 kWh DC fast charging that will put back up to 238 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Like other EVs from the brand, the new EV9 will feature two powertrain setups. The first option is the 203 bhp single rear motor unit that will be offer on lower variants and RWD only models. The more powerful dual motor setup will be available on the GT-Line and top-end trims with AWD capabilities. This system is rated for a maximum power output of 383 bhp and peak torque of 599 Nm.
The EV9 is underpinned by Hyundai-Kia’s bespoke E-GMP skateboard electric platform. The electric SUV is 5.01 metres long with a wheelbase of 3,100 mm, making it the largest model yet to use the platform.
Overall, the KIA EV9 features a bold, yet futuristic look with its large panels. The electric SUVs front end features the brand’s new ‘digital tiger nose’ grille with integrated LED light patterns, ‘star map’ LED headlights and a flat bonnet.

Moving to the side, the EV9 has a distinct two-box shape with a large greenhouse, a kinked rear window line, and new 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear gets sharp-looking trapezoidal creases, vertical ‘star map’ LED taillights positioned on the edges, a spoiler and an aluminium skid plate.
The flagship EV9 GT-Line model features slightly different styling with its bespoke bumpers, unique alloy wheel design, and black roof rails. It also gets dynamic LED patterns in the front grille area.

Like the exterior, the interior carries forwarded the futuristic theme with three screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster along with a pair of smaller screens for the digital wing mirrors.
Due to the bespoke EV architecture, the electric SUV gets a flat floor that has allowed Kia for some innovative packaging solutions. The EV9’s six-seater variants feature a unique swivelling middle row that allows the four rear passengers to face each other while travelling. The rear passengers also get other features like a separate digital climate control panel, tray tables, and ‘Auto mode’ assisted driving.
Upon launch, the EV9 will be available in certain markets with a new “highway driving pilot” system comprising of over 15 sensors to allow for level-3 autonomous driving capabilities
