The Syros will come with a total of three powertrain options. All variants could get six airbags as standard. A panoramic sunroof will be reserved for the top-end trim. The Syros will provide more cabin space for rear seat passengers than the Sonet.
Kia India is all set to showcase its all-new sub-4-metre SUV offering – Syros – on 19th December 2024. It will also be put on display at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. The carmaker will announce its prices at the same event. However, deliveries are expected to start by the end of January or early February. Unofficial bookings for the new Kia Syros compact SUV have already commenced at select Kia dealerships. Here are 5 key points explaining all the details of this product:
The design and styling of the Syros are slightly different from other Kia cars available in India. It’s boxier and more upright, featuring vertically stacked three-pod LED headlamps with long LED DRLs and a sharply sloping clamshell bonnet. The official teasers confirm that the compact SUV has a B-pillar in body-colour finish, flush-fitting door handles, slightly pronounced wheel arches, functional roof rails, a sharp kink for the rear quarter glass area, and L-shaped LED taillamps placed high up with a wraparound effect on the rear windshield.
Being a more premium product than the Sonet, the Kia Syros will offer more features. The teasers reveal that it has a panoramic sunroof. Official details will be disclosed at its debut on 19th December. However, the compact SUV is likely to come with a fully digital instrument cluster, an automatic AC unit, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) tech. All variants of the Syros could get six airbags along with ABS with EBD, a reversing camera, electronic stability control, and Isofix child seat anchorages.
If reports are to be believed, the new Kia compact SUV will have more cabin space than its sibling – the Sonet. This claim has been made based on its tall and upright stance, which creates more room for rear seat occupants. Exact details will be revealed in the coming days.
The Kia Syros will come with multiple powertrain options. The carmaker will offer two petrol engines – a 1.2L naturally aspirated unit and a 1.0L turbocharged unit. While the former produces a maximum power of 82bhp and 115Nm of torque, the latter delivers 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol unit will be available with both a manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
The Syros will be the fifth Kia in India to come with a diesel engine option. The SUV’s diesel version might borrow the 1.5L motor from the Sonet, which produces 115bhp and 250Nm. Buyers will have two gearbox options with the diesel Syros, including a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
