The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is planning to launch multiple new SUVs in the Indian market before the end of this decade. In the next 1 year, the company plans to launch 5 SUVs including 2 facelifts of existing models, next-gen Bolero and 2 new electric SUVs. It is expected that Mahindra will introduce the XUV700 facelift and Thar facelift or Scorpio N facelift in the country in 2026.
The XUV700 facelift is rumoured to be called the XUV 7XO, as the name has already been trademarked. It is expected to be launched sometime early next year. The Mahindra XUV700 facelift is likely to receive subtle design changes and an upgraded interior with more features.
The styling and interior changes are likely to be inspired by the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 7e. The XUV700 facelift is likely to come with triple screen setup incorporating a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display and a passenger entertainment screen. It could also get front and rear parking sensors, and an immersive Sony sound system.
The SUV will continue to be offered with the existing engine options including a 200PS, 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2L turbo diesel. The diesel engine offers two states of tunes - 152bhp/360Nm and 182bhp/450Nm, respectively. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
Mahindra has finally started testing the next-gen Bolero SUV on the Indian roads, and the first set of images have hit the web world. The spy images suggest that the SUV will go through radical design changes with inspiration from the new Scorpio-N. The next-gen Bolero will be based on the New Flexible Architecture (NFA) platform, which will be a front-wheel-drive platform. In fact, Mahindra is also developing an electric derivative of the Bolero.
It is expected to be offered in both sub-4 meter and long wheelbase versions. The next Bolero is expected to come with more modern features such as touchscreen infotainment unit, six airbags, automatic AC and others. It is likely to feature a 1.5L turbo diesel engine along with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine. Mahindra could also introduce the petrol version of the Bolero.
