Grand Vitara facelift might get subtle changes. New 7-seater SUV is expected to arrive in late 2026.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been generating volumes for the brand ever since its launch in 2022. Its strong hybrid powertrain remains a key USP, along with its multiple powertrain options, premium positioning, practicality and Maurti’s reliability. Its popularity reflects in the fact that the Grand Vitara achieved the 2 lakh sales mark in just 23 months of its market launch, making it one of the fastest-selling midsize SUV in India.
In 2025, the Maruti Grand Vitara received an update that included new feature additions, a variant reshuffle and safety enhancements. This was followed by minor feature tweaks, CNG reintroduction and special editions. The SUV has now completed nearly four years in the market, and is ready for its first major midlife update, which is likely to arrive in the second half of 2026.
The 2026 Maruti Grand Vitara facelift is expected to come with subtle cosmetic updates including a revised front grille, updated LED lighting signatures, redesigned bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. The interior could be refreshed with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and new trims and upholstery along with addition of new features.
Mechanically, the new Grand Vitara is expected remain unchanged. The updated SUV lineup will come with the existing 1.5L K15C mild petrol hybrid and 1.5L TNGA Atkinson strong hybrid powertrain options. While the former will come with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options, the latter will get the same eCVT automatic transmission. The CNG fuel option will also remain available.
Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki is working on a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara, which could be introduced under a new nameplate. While official launch details are yet to be announced, it’s expected to hit roads in late 2026. Compared to the Grand Vitara, this upcoming Maruti 7-seater premium SUV will be longer and more spacious with an additional row of seats.
