Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new AMG Line version of its popular flagship SUV, the GLS, with prices starting at Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom). The new AMG Line is available in two versions – GLS 450 AMG Line and GLS 450d AMG Line, priced at Rs 1.40 crore and Rs 1.43 crore respectively.
The new AMG Line brings a sporty and aggressive design to the already luxurious GLS. It features AMG-specific styling updates, including:
- Sportier front and rear bumpers
- AMG side skirts
- Blacked-out Night Package details
- Stylish 21-inch AMG alloy wheels
Inside, the SUV gets premium AMG touches, such as:
- Nappa leather-wrapped AMG steering wheel
- AMG sports pedals in stainless steel
- Floor mats with AMG branding
- Glossy black exterior trims with the Night Package, including black roof rails and grille inserts
Both versions of the AMG Line retain the powerful six-cylinder engines with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Here’s what they offer:
- GLS 450 (Petrol): 375 bhp and 500 Nm
- GLS 450d (Diesel): 362 bhp and 750 Nm
Despite their size, both variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kmph (electronically limited).
Compared to their regular versions:
- The GLS 450 AMG Line is Rs 3 lakh more expensive
- The GLS 450d AMG Line carries a Rs 1 lakh premium
