Honda Cars India has officially teased the new-gen Amaze sub-4 meter sedan, which partially reveal the front fascia. The company has not revealed the launch date; however, the production-ready sedan is likely to be unveiled in December 2024. A possible launch in the end of next month or in January 2025 can't be ignored.
The new Honda Amaze direct rival, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire will also enter the new generation on November 11, 2024. We reported earlier that the new Dzire will be introduced before the new Amaze. It is expected that the bookings for the new Honda Amaze will begin from December.
It is reported that the third generation Honda Amaze will be based on the City's platform that also underpins the Elevate mid-sized SUV. The current model is built on the Brio's platform. The City's platform has been modified for a sub-4 meter sedan that has a shorter wheelbase. The outgoing Amaze rides on 2470mm wheelbase, while the new City has a wheelbase of 2600mm.
The new-gen Honda Amaze will be powered by the existing 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 90bhp of power and 110Nm of torque. Gearbox choices will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
The teaser reveals that the styling of the new Amaze is inspired from the global-spec Accord and Civic sedans. There is an all-new mesh-type front grille, newly styled and sharper headlamps with LED DRLs, and aggressive lower bumper that houses new fog lamp housing. There is a thin bar that runs above the grille and merges neatly with the LED DRLs.
The sedan is expected to share the cabin layout with the new Elevate. The sedan could receive a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which will be compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features likely to include a semi-digital instrument console, a single pane-sunroof, a Lane-watch assist and ADAS.
