The new Dzire sedan is expected to be launched by end of 2024 It will come with a factory-fitted panoramic sunroof The new Maruti Dzire will get the 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine
It is no secret that Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited new-gen Dzire sub-4 meter sedan. The compact sedan has been spotted multiple times on the Indian roads. The spy images reveal key design details and features of the upcoming all-new Maruti Dzire.
The new Dzire sedan will have a completely different exterior design compared to the recently launched Swift hatchback. The new model is built on the same HEARTECT platform that underpins the sibling hatch. It comes with a sharp front fascia with a more flatter nose, a blacked-out horizontally-slatted grille and newly styled headlamp setup.
The grille size is significantly different in terms of styling and size compared to the outgoing model and the new Swift. The LED headlamps are slimmer, while the front bumper has a sporty design. The bumper also houses newly styled fog lamp housing. It also gets newly designed alloy wheels. The rear has new large wraparound LED tail-lights and a newly styled tailgate. It is likely to offer boot space similar in size as the predecessor, but the design of the tailgate is all new and has angular creases.
The new Maruti Dzire will be the first model in its category to offer a factory-fitted sunroof. The cabin is likely to share similarities with the new Swift. Instead of all-black interior scheme in the hatchback, the 2024 Maruti Dzire will come with a lighter colour scheme (most probably beige scheme with black treatment).
In terms of features, the sedan will have a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an automatic climate control system, and a semi-digital instrument console with a 4.2-inch digital MID. The sedan could receive a 360-degree surround view camera. As standard, the sedan will have 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rear parking sensors, and 3-point seatbelt.
It will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z Series petrol engine that powers the new Swift. This Z12E engine is capable of producing 82bhp of power and 112Nm of torque. In the CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 69hp and 102Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
The exact launch details of the new Maruti Dzire are yet to be revealed, but media reports suggest that the sedan could go on sale by the end of 2024. The new model will first come in a petrol avatar, while Dzire CNG is expected to arrive at a later stage.
The outgoing Maruti Dzire is available in the price bracket of Rs 6.57 lakh to Rs 9.34 lakh, ex-showroom. To be sold through the Maruti Arena dealership network around Diwali, the new Dzire is expected to cost around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10.5 lakh. The new Maruti Dzire will rival the likes of the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.
