Ahead of its launch on May 9, the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift was spotted at an Arena dealership in white colour with noticeable changes to the exterior and interior. Pre-bookings are on for a token price of Rs. 11,000. Interested buyers can book the hatchback online or at authorised dealerships.
The five-seater Maruti Swift new-gen maintains its overall body design like its predecessor. A refreshed front grille retains the sweptback headlights featuring L-shaped DRLs towards its ends. Fog lamps have been added in the India-spec car and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are new. The rear has been thoroughly revamped with C-shaped LED tail lights and a fresh bumper housing four parking sensors.
Leaked images reveal a 9-inch touchscreen display unit likely to be offered with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, the dual-tone theme for the dashboard seems to be dropped for an all-black one. Besides the analogue dials used in the instrument cluster and a flat bottom steering wheel, physical controls for HVAC controls are there as well on the inside. Seating at the rear will be offered with a 60:40 split configuration. There won’t be ADAS on offer, reports said.
Under the hood of the upcoming hatchback lies an all-new 1.2-litre Z-Series engine mated to either a manual or automatic gearbox. To note, the petrol mill will also be available with mild-hybrid technology for increased fuel efficiency up to 25.72 kmpl.
