At the ongoing 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan cars is showcasing the next-gen Juke eSUV via the Hyper Punk concept. The concept gives us a preview of the brand’s future design philosophy for upcoming electric cars. We take a closer look.

Nissan says the Hyper Punk is “functional and stylish” that blends both physical and virtual features which will appeal to a style-focused, younger demographic. The new crossover is the fourth of five models in Nissan’s ‘Hyper’ concept lineup showcased at the Tokyo Motor show.
Being a concept, the Hyper Punk is quite outlandish in design with scattered-style LED headlights on the bumper, vertical DRLs, sculpted hood, and a slim air vent. The 23-inch wheels have a triangular pattern while the chunky wheel arches get a contrasting black finish. At the rear, the concept features sleek LED tail lights, illuminated Nissan logo, and triangular brake lights lower down.
Inside, the futuristic cabin has a driver-oriented design that resembles a single-seater cockpit. Aimed at artists, the Hyper Punk has a suite of onboard cameras that capture images of the outer world around you and are then fed through the car’s AI, generating manga-style art that is displayed into the cockpit. It also features mood-sensing technology that can automatically adjust the lighting and music.
The Hyper Punk concept and the other models in the Hyper lineup will evolve directly into production cars. Nissan has confirmed that it will introduce 19 new EVs from between now and 2023. This means the next-gen Juke will likely go fully electric when it launches.
