Renault has revealed a new Symbioz SUV in the global markets. Powered by a petrol-hybrid engine, this SUV is positioned between Captur and Austral SUVs. The Symbioz shares its platform with the upcoming India-spec Renault Duster which is expected to be launched in 2025.
Renault Symbioz SUV: Dimensions, Design
In terms of dimensions, the SUV is 4413 long, 1797 mm wide, and 1575mm tall. From the design perspective, the Symbioz features a similar front fascia as the Captur. However, the Symbioz has a unique pattern in the front grille. Besides, the SUV has flowing side panels. The rear end highlights a distinctive element such as sculpted lights displaying a 3D 'ice cube' effect. The entry-level models run on 18-inch wheels while the pricer models get 19-inch wheels.
The new Renault Symbioz SUV is designed and developed on the alliance’s CMF-B modular platform, which also underpins the new Duster. For people not in the know, new Duster will be launched in our market sometime in 2025. The SUV is positioned below the new Symbioz SUV.
Renault Symbioz SUV: Interior Features
Inside, it gets a portrait-oriented 10.4-inch touchscreen running the brand's Google-based OpenR Link infotainment system. The rear seats can slide backwards by 160mm. This means the SUV can provide 221 mm more space for knee room. Boot space can also be expanded from 492 litres to 624 litres.
Renault Symbioz SUV: Powertrain
Not just the platform, the new Renault Symbioz shares the hybrid powertrain from the new-gen Duster SUV. The powertrain of the Symbioz SUV is powered by the brand's E-Tech Full Hybrid 145 system. This combines a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, a multimodal automatic gearbox, 2 electric motors, and a 1.2 kWh battery pack. It delivers a total power output of 145 bhp.
