Skoda Auto India recently introduced the New Slavia Anniversary Edition in the country. The limited edition model offers mild cosmetic changes and a few feature additions over the standard sedan. Its price starts from Rs 17.28 lakh (ex-showroom).
The special edition Slavia features exterior changes over the regular model like the Anniversary Edition badge found on the C-Pillar, front and rear mudflaps. Chrome finish has been given to the grille while chrome garnish is available for the doors and the bootlid. The sedan also offers a new Lava Blue colour that was previously available only on Skoda Octavia, Superb, and Kodiaq.
On the inside, it gets Anniversary Edition inscriptions on the scuff plate, pillows, and the steering wheel. The biggest change in the limited edition model is the return of the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside 380W audio setup. The former was discontinued last year in the Slavia due to the global semiconductor shortage.
Powering the Skoda Slavia Anniversary Edition is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol motor that pumps out 150 bhp with 250 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. Škoda recently updated the powertrain to meet the New BS6 Phase II Emission Norms. The engine is now E20 (20 percent ethanol blend) compliant.
The Anniversary Edition becomes the new flagship variant in the model line-up. It is priced at Rs 17.28 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual trim and Rs 18.68 lakh (ex-showroom) for the automatic variant.
In India, the Skoda Slavia rivals the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, VW Virtus, and the new Hyundai Verna in its segment.
