The Avinya is a concept that was first showcased by Tata Motors at the Auto Expo 2023. Since then the concept has been under development and was recently showcased as a Sportback with the nameplate Avinya X Concept during the Bharat Mobility Show 2025. It was then that the homegrown automaker announced that the Avinya would be sold under a luxury electric brand within its product portfolio. This line up is believed to include a Sportback and an all-new SUV.
It is likely that an all-new 5-door Sportback will be launched as the first model under the Avinya electric brand. Let's look at all you need to know about upcoming Tata Avinya.
Mostly, the production version is expected to follow a similar style to the Avinya Concept. It is likely to come with a rugged look and a sloping roofline thereby providing it with a SUV-Coupe look.
The side profile will feature 22-inch alloy wheels alongside flush-type door handles for the driver and co-passenger. A rather plain design, you will find flared wheel arches on either side. Rear passengers can gain access to the car via touch sensors that are located on C-pillar.
As for the rear, expect it to have the same T-shaped LED tail light design seen in the Avinya concept.
The cabin of the New Avinya Concept is said to offer a minimalist and luxurious interior. As the car is still in the concept phase the features are subject to changes with further updates for it.
As for now, the concept is expected to offer a two-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, a large center console, with modern features like V2L and V2V, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and Level-2 ADAS.
As per our understanding, the model could come with a 5, 6, and 7-seat layout. Further, if media reports are to be believed, the Tata Avinya could be based on JLR's EMA platform.
Not much information is available regarding the battery pack of the Avinya. What we can tell you is that the Sportback is expected to offer an amazing range of around 500 kms on a single full charge. As for drive train options, we expect it to come equipped with both RWD and AWD.
Tata Avinya will be a whole new product line from the automakers, with an anticipated starting price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to be launched by 2026, though the brand has yet to make any official statement regarding the launch dates. The company is aiming to grab the attention with this Sportback as the first product under its new luxury electric car brand.
