Tata Motors is planning to launch 30 new passenger vehicles, including seven all-new nameplates in the country by the end of this decade. The company aims to grab 18-20 percent market share by FY30. To achieve this target, the homegrown automaker add multiple new urban compact EVs, lifestyle SUVs, mid-sized family cars and premium electric SUVs. Adding to it, the existing ICE portfolio will also receive generation update.
Tata Motors will launch the next-gen Nexon, Punch, Harrier and Safari. Adding to it, the company will launch two new urban compact EVs, internally called ‘Kuno’ and ‘Terra’. The homegrown automaker is also developing a new sub-4 meter SUV, called the Tata Scarlet.
The next-gen Tata Nexon, codenamed Garud, is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2026. Adding to it, the next-gen Tata Harrier and Safari (Internally dubbed as Taurus and Leo, respectively) will arrive in 2027.
The much-awaited Tata Avinya nameplate will finally arrive in our market in 2027. It is reported that the company will introduce two models - a Sportback and a 5-seater SUV under the Avinya nameplate. The luxurious SUV could be offered in 5 and 7-seat layout. The new Avinya premium EV range will be based on Tata’s Gen 3 skateboard EV architecture.
The Tata Scarlet will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV. It will be positioned between the Nexon and Curvv in Tata’s ICE line-up. The new SUV will be based on a monocoque platform and will be introduced as an alternative to the existing compact SUVs.
The next-gen Tata Harrier and Safari are likely to be based on a new platform. Moreover, the new models could be bigger, bolder and more capable than the current models. The new SUVs are likely to be high on tech and connectivity. Also, the new models will offer four-wheel-drive capabilities.
Tata Motors will also launch the long-awaited Sierra before the end of this financial year, most probably in October-November 2025. The new Tata Sierra will come with petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. The Sierra EV will arrive first, while the ICE models are likely to be launched in the first quarter of 2026. The SUV could debut the brand’s new 1.5-litre NA and 1.5L turbo petrol engines.
