The new 7-Seater Toyota Hyryder spied Launch expected by end of 2026 The SUV has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing
It is no secret that Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Intended to launch 7-seater versions of the Grand Vitara and Hyryder, respectively. However, reports suggest the project has been delayed to put on hold following recent market evaluations. It seems like that the Japanese duo have revived plans for the 7-seater SUVs, as a longer version of the current Toyota Hyryder has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing.
The spotted model is heavily covered in thick cloth; however, the size of the SUV is significantly bigger than the standard Hyryder. It is clearly visible that the SUV has an extended rear overhang, and a longer body along with a longer wheelbase to accommodate third-row seats.

The report claims that the spotted model has a visible rear axle shafts, suggesting that Toyota is testing the AllGrip AWD variant of the Hyryder 7-seater. The existing Grand Vitara and Hyryder are offered with a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine and AWD drivetrain. The availability of the AWD system in the 7-seater Hyryder suggesting that Toyota is planning to position the new SUV as a lifestyle model targeting both urban and semi-urban buyers.
The new Toyota Hyryder 7-seater SUV will come with design changes including sleeker LED daytime running lamps, lowered placed headlamps in boxy housing, an updated grille with tweaked air-dams and revised bumper. The silhouette will be an extended version of the existing Hyryder, and the wheelbase could be increased to accommodate third-row seat. The SUV is likely to get new alloy wheels, sleeker LED tail-lights, and a full-width connected LED bar.
The new 7-seater Hyryder is expected to get more features compared to the 5-seater version. It is likely to get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Other features include ventilated front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a HUD (Heads-Up Display), a panoramic sunroof and a wireless phone charging. For safety and security, the 3-row SUV will have six airbags, 360-degree camera, TPMS, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and LEVEL 2 ADAS.
The new 7-seater Hyryder is expected to be offered with the same engine options as the 5-seater model, including a 1.5L NA petrol with mild-hybrid tech, a 1.5L strong hybrid tech and a 1.5L petrol-CNG. The naturally-aspirated unit will come with both FWD and AWD setup, and offers 103PS and 137Nm. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The strong hybrid engine offers a combined power and torque output of 116PS and 141Nm, and is paired to an e-CVT. In the CNG mode, the engine produces 88PS and 121.5Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
We expect the new Toyota Hyryder 3-row SUV will go on sale before the end of this year. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO and MG Hector.
