Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced its sales numbers for the month of February 2025. The company sold 28,144 units last month, reporting a significant increase of 13 percent as compared to the same period last year. Similarly, Kia Motor India has also registered an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 19 percent.
There is a strong competition going on between automakers. While Tata Motors, Hyundai and Mahindra are facing each other to grab the second spot in the list of top 10 car makers, Toyota and Kia are also aiming to grab the 5th spot in the list. Interestingly, Mahindra has managed to outsmart Hyundai in terms of sales to grab the second position in the domestic passenger market. Tata Motors slips to fourth position, while Maruti Suzuki remains at the top.
Toyota retains its 5th position by beating Kia Motors India. The Japanese automaker's popular cars including the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Glanza are receiving great response from buyers. Similarly, Kia's mass market SUVs including the Syros, Seltos, Sonet and Carens are doing very well in the market.
Toyota has sold 28,414 units in the month of February 2025 as against 25,220 units in the same month last year. The company has reported an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 13 percent. In the domestic market, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 26,414 units, while exports stood at 2000 units.
In the first 11 months of FY 2024-25, Toyota has recorded a total sales of 3,06,105 units. The company has reported an impressive growth of 30 percent over the same period last year when it sold 236,332 units in FY 2023-24.
Toyota has also opened pre-orders for the Land Cruiser 300. The SUV gets a new GR-S variant, which comes with an off-road tuned suspension, differential locks, and enhanced shock absorbers to offer improved performance in extreme conditions. Toyota claims that the small cars like Taisor and Glanza contributed to 28 percent of the total sales in February 2025.
The Korean automaker has registered a total sales of 25,026 units in the month of February 2025 as against 20,200 units in the same month last year. The company has registered an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 23.89 percent.
Kia's newly launched Syros has received an overwhelming response from buyers. The company sold 5425 units of the Syros last month, while Sonet sales were 7598 units. Kia sold 6446 units of the Seltos and 5318 units of the Carens MPV in February 2025. The Korean brand also sold 239 units of the Carnival luxury MPV last month.
