Mahindra Auto has taken the wraps off the Scorpio Classic; Gets minor design tweaks and an updated powertrain; Will be available in 2 variants S and S11; Price announcement scheduled for September 20, 2022
Mahindra & Mahindra has brought back the OG Scorpio in form of the Scorpio Classic. The Classic will carry forward the legacy of the Scorpio nameplate, along with the Scorpio N. In its new avatar, the four-wheeler get minor redesign to the exterior along with some improvements to the powertrain and suspension. The prices of the Scorpio Classic is set to be revealed on August 20, 2022.
In terms of the exterior, the SUV retains its tall and upright stance which was loved by the rural customers. The changes on the outside are limited to a new 6-slat front grille, new twin-peak Mahindra logo and a redesigned 17-inch alloy wheel. The muscular hood scoop is retained along with the familiar headlight unit.. The rear profile continues to remain the same with signature tower LED tail lamp.

On the inside, the four-wheeler continues with the mechanical layout of the outgoing model. The layout of the dashboard remains identical to the outgoing model, but get a new two-tone beige-and-black finish. A new addition to the cabin is the 22.86 cm touchscreen infotainment unit with phone mirroring and other modern functionalities.
The Scorpio Classic will be offered with only a 2.2-litre Gen2 mHawk diesel engine, producing 132 horses and 300 Nm peak torque. A major chunk (230 Nm) of this torque is delivered at 1000 rpm giving a strong low-end grunt. The updated powertrain unit is lighter by 55 kgs making the four-wheeler 14 percent more fuel efficient than before. This new engine is mated to a six-speed cable shift transmission.The company has also made improvements to the suspension and steering system to reduce body roll and make the car easy to ride and handle on a daily basis.
In terms of variants, the Scorpio Classic will be available in two variants, S and S11. Customers can opt between 5 colours, namely Red Rage, Napoli Back, Dsat Silver, Pearl White and the new Galaxy Grey.
