Hyundai Motor India has just launched the New Aura Facelift in India. Introductory prices start from Rs 6.29 lakh for the entry-level E variant, going up to Rs 8.87 lakh for the top SX CNG trim. The brand had already started accepting bookings for the updated sedan earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 11,000. We take a detailed look at all the key changes.
2023 Hyundai Aura gets an updated design featuring a new two-part grille and a more upright nose. The sub-compact sedan provides L-shaped LED DRLs at the edges of the bumper but misses out on the fog lamps. The side and rear profile stay the same, with 15-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lights. The facelifted model now gets a boot lid spoiler in all trim levels except the base model. There is a new paint shade, Starry Night which replaces the Vintage Brown option.
Moving inside, the cabin layout of the facelifted Aura remains unchanged over the outgoing model but gets new upholstery, ambient lighting in the footwell area, and an updated instrument cluster. Other features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a tire pressure monitoring system, push-button start/stop, auto climate control, fast USB charging, cruise control, parking sensors with a reversing camera, and more.
Hyundai has also given the New Aura added safety features, with the four-wheeler now getting 6 airbags, ESC, ISOFIX points, Hill-Hold Assist, and automatic headlights.
Mechanically, the Aura Facelift will continue to use the same 1.2-litre motor which pumps out 83 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque. This engine is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit, where it develops 69 bhp with 95 Nm torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual or an AMT. With the facelift, Hyundai has decided to discontinue the 1-litre turbo-petrol motor that churned out 100 bhp with 172 Nm of peak torque.
2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire (Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 9.18 lakh), Honda Amaze (Rs 6.89 lakh to 9.48 lakh), and the Tata Tigor (Rs 6.10 lakh to 8.84 lakh). Do note that all prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
