We informed you earlier that Volkswagen will launch the Taigun facelift in our market in Q2, 2026. The SUV has been spotted testing several times, revealing key information on design changes. It will receive significant design changes along with an upgraded interior with new set of high-end features. Moreover, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun will receive a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The spy images reveal that the 2026 VW Taigun facelift will share some of its design cues with the brand’s bigger SUVs, including the VW Tayron. Majority of the changes are made to its front fascia, which now has full-width LED light bar and Tayron-inspired illuminated logos. The SUV gets a redesigned front bumper and revised headlamp setup with LED lighting. The lower bumper has wider air intakes and a faux-scuff plate.
The side profile remains the same, except for the new set of alloy wheels. It will continue to offer conventional door handles, blacked-out B-pillars, roof rails and a shark fin antenna. At the back, the SUV gets the refreshed tail-lights connected via a LED light bar. The connected LED strip appears thicker than the current model. The bumper has been revised and offers a more clutter-free look.
The Taigun facelift will receive an upgraded cabin with part sharing with the Skoda Kushaq facelift. It is likely to get new upholstery and interior themes. Similar to the Kushaq, the new Taigun will have a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The SUV is likely to offer sunroof, automatic climate control, all-4 disc brakes as standard. The higher-spec model could also get rear seats with massage function. The top-spec model will get a panoramic sunroof, while the lower variants will have single-pane sunroof.
The 2026 VW Taigun facelift will continue to be offered with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engine. Instead of a 6-speed automatic unit, the 1.0L TSI unit will be paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.0L engine is good for 115PS and 178Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. On the other hand, the 4-cylinder unit produces 150PS and 250Nm of torque, and is paired to a 7-speed DSG unit.
