2027 Seltos EX Variant First Look – India Plans Revealed

Kia Seltos has made its first appearance in its new-generation form at the New York International Auto Show.

The model showcased is the base EX variant, giving a closer look at what buyers can expect from the entry-level trim of the upcoming SUV.

India Launch Plans Confirmed

Kia is planning to bring the new-generation Seltos to India in 2027.

The SUV will first go on sale in the US between June and August 2026, followed by the launch of its hybrid version by the end of 2026. India is expected to get the hybrid model as well.

Base Variant with a Lifestyle Twist

Even though it is the base EX variant, the showcased model comes with several lifestyle accessories.

It features a matte finish with unique decals, giving it a distinct look. The SUV also gets 17-inch off-road wheels with all-terrain tyres for a rugged appearance.

Accessories for Customisation

The Seltos EX variant highlights Kia’s focus on personalisation.

It comes with a roof rack carrying luggage and a kayak, along with a rear-mounted bike rack that can hold two bicycles.

These accessories are optional and can be added by buyers based on their needs and lifestyle.

Feature Highlights

The new Seltos is expected to be well-equipped even in lower variants.

Key features include LED lighting, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and powered and ventilated seats.

It may also offer a 360-degree camera and multiple ADAS features for better safety.

Hybrid Powertrain Details

The next-generation Seltos will introduce a hybrid powertrain.

It is expected to use a 1.6-litre turbo petrol-based hybrid setup. While petrol versions will arrive first, the hybrid model is planned for late 2026 in the US and later in India.
