3 Game-Changing Nissan SUVs Including the Patrol Set to Hit India by 2027

Nissan Tekton launch expected by July 2026 Patrol to arrive by Diwali New 7-seater SUV to launch by March 2027

After introducing the Gravite 7-seater MPV, Nissan Motor India has finally hit the “fast-forward” button on its product roadmap. The Japanese automaker has confirmed three new SUVs for the Indian market. These SUVs are designed to cover everything from the mid-size segment to the ultra-luxury flagship space.

Here is the breakdown of the three upcoming Nissan SUVs including the flagship Patrol that will redefine the brand in India by 2027.

Nissan Tekton: The Creta Rivaling

New Nissan Tekton Launch Timeline

The most important and immediate launch for Nissan is the Tekton midsize SUV. It is built on the same modular platform that underpins the new Renault Duster. Expected to be introduced by July 2026, the new Tekton will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra and others in the segment.

Patrol-inspired Design: the teaser images confirmed that the Tekton styling is inspired by the Patrol SUV. It features a muscular, upright stance with squared-off wheel arches. The SUV gets C-shaped connected LED lighting system  and the brand’s signature V-motion grille.

Engine Options: the new Nissan Tekton will be offered with two engine options, including a 99bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 160bhp, 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol. Similar to the new Duster, the Nissan Tekton will also receive a 1.8L strong hybrid engine by 2027.

Key Features: it will come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, LEVEL 2 ADAS, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera and others.

Launch Timeline: the new Nissan Tekton midsize SUV is expected to be launched by mid-2026, around July-August.

Nissan 7-Seater SUV

The Japanese brand has confirmed an all-new 3-row SUV based on the same CMF-B or RGMP modular platform, which will also underpin the India-spec Renault Bigster or Boreal. The 7-seater SUV will be a distinct, stand-along product, targeting large families who prioritise road presence and comfort.

Engine Options: the new SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 160bhp and 280Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT. The 7-seater model could also get an AWD drivetrain.

Similar to the new Duster, the 7-seater Nissan SUV is also expected to receive a 1.8L strong hybrid engine that offers a combined power output of 160hp. It is expected to measure around 4.6 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2702mm.

Launch Timeline: the new 7-seater SUV will arrive six months after the launch of the Tekton. We expect the new Nissan 7-seater SUV could arrive in the Q1, 2027.

Nissan Patrol

The hugely popular Nissan Patrol is finally heading to India. The company is planning to bring the Patrol through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, taking full use of the 2,500 unit annual import rule.

Engine: the new Patrol will be powered by a 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 engine that produces 419 bhp and up to 700 Nm of torque. This body-on-frame luxury SUV comes with a full-time 4WD setup.

Launch Timeline: It is expected to be launched by festive season. The Patrol will directly challenge the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
